Living in Connecticut and the US and Canadian northeast truly spoil me sometimes.  The beer culture, quality and diversity are second to none from Pennsylvania throughout New England, Ontario, Quebec and Eastern Canada.  There is a beer for any palate and every situation.

Thimble Island Brewing Company exemplifies that New England independent craft beer experience with a wide selection of well brewed ales and lagers, or having a fun taproom and brewery with events and good food.  Their Sea Mist New England IPA might not be listed as their flagship ale, but it most likely is with its popularity in the region.

The NEIPA has a heavy head that dissipates quickly, within 5-10 seconds. Heavy – white foam. Half of the initial pour. Gone after a few sips. Let beer settle for 1-2 min. Don’t drink straight out of can, this beer is meant to be poured to open up its full flavor and aroma.

Color: True to its New England roots, the ale is  a cloudy and unfiltered yellow to orange. Head is white.  This coloring lets you know right out of the gate that your are in for a hoppy and citrusy experience.

Aroma. Orange peel immediately after opening can and pouring into glass. Other tropical scents of pineapple as well. Very juicy

Taste: orange-lemon light and sweet citrus from start to finish. Mosaic and Amarillo hops noticeable on the second half through finish. Hardly any bite for a 7.0 percent abv, if you taste it, it’s in the finish but not bad. Well balanced
