Wanderings of a Curious Global Citizen

Vagar, Faroes

The world is meant to be seen. This, perhaps, was the best advice my father told me as I packed my last few boxes and backpack as I headed off to college, and thus started an ongoing adventure ever since.

My father was very adamant that I got to see a lot of the USA and Canada in my youth.  There were countless hours in the car, on a plane and heading to national parks, museums, Revolutionary War and Civil War battlefields, and presidential homes.  That is where my thirst for knowledge and exploration began.

Hi, I am Dave.  Welcome to my travel, lifestyle and beverage blog.  I am an avid hiker, and connoisseur of teas, coffees, beers and  a few other libations.  I am a marketing and communications professional by trade, and a sports fan, volunteer and bookworm for fun.  I live in southern Connecticut, but I have lived in Seattle, Seoul, Portsmouth New Hampshire, and did a graduate semester in London.   I wish to share the world as I have seen in in traveling to around 40 countries in the last seven years.   When I am not wandering the hills of New England and New York or hopping a plane across an ocean, I am a proud father of three parrots:  Charlie, Tom and Pikachu.  Please. feel free to comment,  write, and share your adventures and feedback too.

Ah, London.  Beloved London.  Very few cities captivate me the way the big cities of the UK and Ireland do, and London is the exclamation point for this part of the world.  It is a contrasts of styles that meshes well together from old Roman and Victorian architecture to one

Bewley’s Earl Grey is a Saint Partick’s Season Delight

When I think of Saint Patrick’s Day, two thoughts come to mind.  An ode to my Irish and Scottish heritage, and my travels to old country, and the turning of the page from winter towards spring and warmer and longer days. With spring slowly beginning to make its gentler presence

Or, in English, this Japanese proverb translates to “Drink your tea slowly and reverently, as if it is the axis on which the world earth revolves – slowly, evenly, without rushing toward the future; Live the actual moment. Only this moment is life.” Enjoyment
